Whoever has started this nice little joint called POPPADUMS in Male' has done it well. And whoever said that restaurants have to be mighty big in size has been proven completely wrong by the Poppadums guys. This nice little joint located on Ameer Ahmed Magu in Male', just opposite the office gate of Majeediyya School has a purely welcoming interior, quite simple, yet has something inviting in it.
They serve Indian food at its best, i would say much better than the so called indian restaurants in Male' which claim to serve authentic Indian cuisine. Starting from the chinese fried rice to a range of North Indian tandoor dishes, poppadums has it all in its truly mouth-watering form. Open from 12 noon till 1 in the morning, poppadums serves mostly the maldivian clientele. Since the place has limited seats ( a maximum of 36) it becomes important to call up and book a table in advance if you are in the real mood to munch some truly indian stuff.
Unlike other joints, Poppadums has mostly indian staff and i believe it is run by a group of indian guys who have a history of running indian restaurants in the country since the early 90's, no wonder they have done a wonderful job so far.
One could call their delivery service at 3307858 and request for food at their doorstep also. i am told that they are very soon going to start selling indian antiques and indian snacks such as chips to add true indian colour to their existing profile. The bottomline however is to make every customer feel delighted upon visiting Poppadums.
